And it happened! The makers of The Sky Is Pink, who had been rooting for the premiere of their film at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2019, are ecstatic as the premiere took place yesterday. The film, which stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira, asim, and Rohit Saraf, is slated to release on October 11, 2019. For the Film Festival, the Quantico actress opted for a layered off-shoulder dress. With no accessory, Peecee completed her look with minimal makeup.

Before stepping for the premiere, Priyanka shared a picture with co-stars Farhan Akhtar-Rohit Saraf and director Shonali Bose. Captioning the photo, Peecee wrote, “Tonight at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto we introduce #theskyispink to the world at @tiff_net. What an exhilarating moment...I could not be more proud of this film. Are we going to see you tonight??!! 💕 @shonalibose_ @faroutakhtar @rohitsaraf10”

Priyanka also shared a few pictures from the red carpet, where she posed with the real Ayesha’s real mother Aditi and real father Niren. Captioning the photo, Priyanka has written, “Aditi and Niren what a privilege it has been to share you and your family’s story with the world.”

In one of the videos, as the movie ends, director Shonali Bose hugs Priyanka and Farhan for their performances. Shibani Dandekar was also spotted at the Film Festival. The Sky Is Pink has reunited Farhan and Priyanka once again on the silver screen after Zoya Akhtar’s directorial venture Dil Dhadakne Do in 2015.

The Sky Is Pink is based on a real-life story on a 13-year-old girl named Ayesha Chaudhary. We also brought to you reasons for Shonali Bose which she had revealed. She had said that a broken marriage and loss of her son drew her to direct the film.
